Dr. Lene Larsen, is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with children, teens, young adults, and their families. Dr. Larsen provides individual therapy to help children, teens and young adults deal with issues of depression, anxiety, stress, and coping with stressful life events. She works with families to find ways to decrease conflict, improve communication, and promote supportive and healthy relationships. She also provides parent-focused therapy to help parents understand and better manage their children’s behavior and functioning and improve their ability to cope effectively.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Larsen is a grief facilitator and project coordinator at Peter’s Place which is a center for grieving children and families in Radnor, PA.
Dr. Larsen completed her doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in clinical psychology at the University of Kentucky. Her internship was completed at the University of Illinois in Chicago, with an emphasis on evaluating and treating adolescent and young adults in outpatient and inpatient settings. Her postdoctoral fellowship was completed at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, focusing on child and adolescent outpatient evaluation and therapy.
Dr. Larsen holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
Her past work experience includes working as a staff psychologist, clinical director, clinical supervisor, and administrative manager at top rated Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
While in Chicago, Dr. Larsen was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry in the Medical School of Northwestern University. She has been involved in research in the areas of personality assessment, adjustment to pediatric medical conditions, and behavioral problems in preschoolers. Finally, she has provided sport psychology consultation to junior and college-level tennis players and to parents of youth athletes.
Dr. Larsen is a Fellow at the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and a Professional Member of the Trichotillomania Learning Center.
